Billy Mitchel "Might Be Hope" (1970 Mercury Lp)

Billy Mitchel is a blues psychedelia Singer Songwriter, who was an original from the village 60's scene; the Gaslight Cafe, Night Owl Cafe, and Cafe Au Go Go. He had opened for Hendrix in the late sixties, played guitar on Carly Simon's "Summer Song" and also played on Richie Havens' (who appears on this record) "Portfolio". He also had a speaking part in Milo Forman's "Hair".

This album which was released in early 1970 is a good example of rock, blues and jazz, with a fat version of "Back Door Man", but the track that makes this desirable is "Electronic Dance" which is a sort of freeform psychedelia beginning with a long instrumental intro. A sort of cool groove follows the sitar, guitar, bass, and flutes, drums and percussion. (Internet Source)

Hi.

Just found your blog, and what a great blog it is. All of my long forgotten heroes gathered in one place. It certainly will take some time to get it all down.
Having this fantastic record collection, do you by any chance have a copy of an album called "Shango" by the group Shango.please post it.
Once again, thank you for a great blog.

Hi from Cy
Another 'effortless' recording. Talent is hard to define but Billy used all of his to produce this little album that had much to commend it.
I suppose the Greenich Scene was character forming, today we have The X Factor, nuff said.
I'd go see this type of performer any day of the week.
Well, He's Packed his Things and wandered off in search of his personal Shangrila, I hope he found it?
Thank you very much for this share.
Cy from Pck.
